I had several ideas for "clean and simple" but amazingly enough, this was the assignment that I found most challenging so far. After 3 attempts, I submit to you this effort.
I used the "Adore You" stamp set (which I DO adore, and don't use enough!). I heat embossed the floral and leaf images with white detail embossing powder, and then filled in the colors with watercolor paint. I use the Distress Ink refills as my liquid water color, so what I did here was to fill up each "well" created by the heat embossed edges with water and then dropped in 2 colors of pink (picked raspberry and spun sugar), one shade of yellow (mustard seed) for the centers and 2 shades of green (mowed lawn and lucky clover) for the leaves. After they dried, I used my clear Wink of Stella pen to make the flowers have a bit of sparkle, but in truth, it kind of subdued the pink color and color variation. I just can't resist a bit of sparkle! I also spattered picked raspberry and mustard seed into the background to add a bit of interest. Additional shine is provided by using the Wink of Stella that I squeezed out of my pen as background splatter as well.
The sentiment is stamped with white embossing powder onto a bright pink cardstock to match the flowers and it is popped up with foam tape.
The panel is then mounted on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch piece of watercolor paper that I colored in complimenting pink and yellow/orange shades using color burst and Brusho crystallized water colors. The left side of the panel is finished off with a thin piece of silver holographic cardstock - gotta get that sparkle and shine in there!!
I'll admit that I'm not quite sure what qualifies as "boutique" but I hope you enjoy this card, and that it "fits the bill"!!
Happy Crafting!
I completely get you! When you have an artsy style, it is hard to achieve the CAS look! But Therese always says "Erum's CAS version" LOL and it's never "clean"! So I take your artsy card as a CAS card :) The shimmer looks great. Thank you for submitting your work to the AECP assignment gallery.
