Susan - Polychromatic

Including many colors on a card makes it look fun and happy! While my card isn't quite as bold as those from the class, it still features multiple colors, both inside and out.

I designed this card using the Celebrations stamp and die set for a dear friend's daughter and her partner who just recently got engaged. Sending them a "bouquet" of happiness seemed like a great idea!

I started with the bouquet and colored the flowers with multiple Copic colors, blending the centers in darker shades. I used different colors and types of drops (Nuvo Crystal Drops, Dream Drops, and Perfect Pearls) in different colors to fill in the centers of the flowers as well as the "berries" that adorn the bouquet. The wrap for the bouquet was colored with a strawberry glitter pen from Nuvo and the bow and strings were colored in using a glitter gel pen.

I built up 3 layers of cardstock for the bouquet to give it some dimension, and mounted that on a pearlescent piece of vellum cut with a round scalloped die. The sentiment is stamped with black ink and an "s" was added to the word "bride." (Stamps for same sex couples are hard to find but I'm pretty happy with my modification here. I think the "s" looks like it belongs!) The background uses blue cardstock that has been run through the Storybook Frame 3D embossing folder. The pattern on it was enhanced by lightly rubbing a white pigment ink over it to make it a little more delicate and noticeable. The embellishments here are Rainbow gems from Trinity Stamps. I like the way they pick up colors of what is around them, again using the polychromatic theme.

The photo above gives you a bit closer look at the bouquet and the embellishments.

The polychromatic idea continues to the inside of the card using the same colors that were used in the bouquet. The same stamp used for the focal point on the front of the card is echoed inside by stamping it from different angles and in different colors around the bottom of the card. The inside sentiment was stamped with an ombre neon stamp pad from Hero Arts.

I'm looking forward to sending this card and congratulating this happy couple!
