When Altenew came out with their 3D embossing folders, I was blown away. And the class that showed so many great ways of using them was fun to watch! I have to say the design and the "engineering" to get the maximal dimension but without cracking when you do the embossing is just amazing. I now have many favorites in this line, but here's the one I love the most - Beautiful Bergenia:
I started with a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch piece of cardstock that has a buttercream color and ran it through the 3D embossing folder. All by itself, it is stunning, but I chose to add some further color and dimension to it by using Altenew Rouge ink (with a light hand over the entire panel, and then highlighted the center of the flowers with Coral Bliss. I then added a 3rd color by picking up the yellow theme again using Scattered Straw Distress Oxide Ink over the whole panel, but again with a light hand so that it "caught" on the raised section of the flowers. I added some Nuvo crystal drops in tiny droplets to each of the stamens of the flowers. The bottom panel is cut from a piece of patterned paper that picks up the orange/coral color. The sentiment (from the Hero Arts collaboration "Bloom and Grow" stamp set), stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and then covered with clear embossing powder was added on an angle. I used a VersaMark pen to apply some embossing ink to the top of the panel at the bottom of the card, and applied a coral colored embossing powder to provide a little texture and shine. The embellishments come from Nuvo sequins in 2 shades (Buttercream and Pink Tutu) although the distinction between these 2 colors is a little hard to appreciate in the picture. There's something about the hole in the middle of sequins that I don't love, so I typically fill them in with something, in this case using Nuvo Dream Drops in the Gold Luxe color. I then cut down the panel to 4 by 5 1/4 inches and mounted it onto a piece of brown card stock. The edges of the base cardstock were enhanced by using a Nuvo Shimmer pen in brown ink. The entire panel was then attached to a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch note card.

Love these 3D embossing folders!!
